West Hartford, CT — October 7, 2025 – ACCEL Law Group, a West Hartford, Connecticut based law firm with national insurance transactional, regulatory and corporate services practices, today announced that Max Ruh and Shaquille Ricketts have joined the firm as Associates.

Max Ruh joins ACCEL after completing a two-year judicial clerkship for The Honorable Michael K. O’Keefe in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. During law school, Max served as a Student Attorney for the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, Constitutional and Administrative Law Division. He is a 2023 graduate of Boston College Law School. He earned his B.A, magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University. Max is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Connecticut.

Shaquille Ricketts first came to ACCEL as a 2023 Summer Associate and continued as a Law Clerk during his final two years of Law School. Prior to joining ACCEL, Shaquille gained insurance law experience as a Legal Intern at Travelers Insurance and as a Financial Analysis Intern at the Connecticut Insurance Department. He also has served in several paralegal roles as a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard, including the International Committee of the Red Cross Military Liaison Department and the 16th Sustainment Brigade of the US Army. He is the recipient of multiple Commendation Medals for his work in Cuba and in the NATO theater of Operations in Europe during his 5+ year career with the US military. In May 2025, Shaquille earned both his Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law and his master’s in business administration from the University of Connecticut School of Business. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Sociology from Fairfield University. He is awaiting admission to the Connecticut Bar.
